Bad Hosts?

Is Forumotion a bad host? I keep asking myself this question. Could just be the fact you don't get the database.
I do like the Admin panel though.

I personally think that it is. It doesn't allow you to do the extraordinary and put what ever you want on the forum. I mean, the cash system doesn't even have a donate feature.

But I can say for new webmasters, forumotion is a good place to experiment.

It was my first forum host, so I suppose. It makes me so mad I can't convert though! I can't start over, all my work and all my users work will be gone.

My first forum host was uCoz. Then it was FreeForums.org then it was Forumotion. Finally, I bought my own domain and my forum software was vb then now MyBB.

Yeah. I wouldn't suggest Forumotion because they don't let you change skin templates and such. You don't get to do as much stuff as you want. I would suggest to use some free web host first to start off like ByetHost and then move your way up to paid web hosting like HostGator dedicated hosting. Just upload all your files into your FTP. Like I said, I honestly don't suggest using Forumotion or FreeForums.org.

I find Zetaboard a good free host as we can have lots of themes to pick form
and the mods are easy for some one like me to use

After what I've seen happen to ForuMotion hosts, I'm going to have to say that it is.

I don't think they are bad as such, aren't you able to get the database if you contact them? Anyway, they are not as bad as some of the other free forum hosts out there.

Yes im using forumotion for my New Promotion Forum i think not having acess to database means they do all updates for you if your forum turns sucessfull then use the crawler FP Is Sucessfull

It's good for beginners but it's not advanced enough for anything big.
