Dear members my forum almost got hacked today but dont worry every thing is fine i am posting his/her information here for you all to watch out for.

Anytime anyone asks for "temporary adminship" . . . well you have to know that is 100% an attempt to get into your control panel.

You need to ban the IP address of that person, ban the account, ban the username, ban the email address and make a post on your forum with all the banned information, along with the fact that he/she was banned for attempted cracking of your website. That way search engine spiders will index their information and maybe others will find it and be saved the pain this person is trying to cause.

Do NOT reply to this PM. Just quietly remove the person by banning.

This is the pm i got today from the member.

Lol, thought your name was Alucard for a bit. XD

Anyways, I'm trying to run a forum that serves as a hub kind of likes yours, only its focus is forum creation. I've been gathering example forums, and am actually using the Forum For Anything as a gameshow example! I'm still missing some examples, and you're perfect for Advertising.(I found this through FFA if you didn't guess) What I need is a 120x60 banner, temporary adminship to make sure you aren't hosting illegal script codes(you have lots of script codes so my work is cut out for me there!), and if you so desire a short blurb about your forum. This should be done before the 15th.

On an unrelated side note, those are some wicked smileys. Razz

And on a slightly related note, could you maybe keep me as admin after I make sure your forum doesn't have any illegal scripts? I'm really impressed with this place, and want to learn some stuff from you before making my own forum. Apprenticeship or something like that.

It's useful, but the message the scammer sent sounds unconvincing, slightly dodgy, so that would have confirmed any doubts.

I want to clarify, hacking didn't take place. Cracking did. It's sad how gullible people are. They fall for the weakest of shenanigans. (no offense)
